About Kim Thao

Kim Thao combines elements of the Renaissance and Baroque in her works with modern movements such as Impressionism and Surrealism. She interprets historical masterpieces in a personal and contemporary way. Her paintings are characterized by harmonious color compositions and a blend of abstraction and figuration. 

Born in Hanoi and raised in Munich, Thao studied Management and Technology at the Technical University of Munich before starting a career in finance. In 2020, she discovered oil painting as a passion, and light became the source of her inspiration. Her works on large canvases are a visual experience and expression of emotions, freedom, and hope. In her paintings, light shines in various forms: whether it’s light gently streaming through a floral canopy, her vision of light in the universe, or the festive light illuminating the forest. In 2024, she began to engage intensively with figuration and deepened her knowledge of human body anatomy, particularly the skeletal structure and musculature, at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. 

Today, Thao lives and works in Munich, where she creates her works in dialogue between light, nature, and the human body.
